First I'd like to apologize for taking so long to post this entry. I had promised a few posts showcasing the city during the holidays. Well, technically I have 12 hours...lol.
Now that Christmas is over, we have the craziness of NYE in Times Square. If you're a New Yorker, you know to stay faaar away from there New Year's Eve. Most people do house parties, or do dinner and the countdown at a restaurant in town...then head to the after parties which can go well into early afternoon on the 1st.
Why do we not go to Times Square? If your idea of a fabulous NYE is standing (standing not sitting) in sub zero temperatures with thousands of people, who like yourself will not be able to leave to use the restroom or grab a drink because alcohol is strictly prohibited (hello?! champagne toast!) then knock yourself out my friend!....and good luck getting an Uber or taxi once this fun party is over. Not very fun right?! Enjoy the countdown like the rest of the world, somewhere warm.
A week or so after NYE, the city will sit into it's gloomy winter. Once the lights and trees are down we have bare tree limbs, grey skies and dark wardrobes all up and down our streets. I swear even the cabs turn grey!....joking. So that's when our great restaurants, museums and shops come to the rescue. The creativity is a treat for winter blues and so inspiring. I will continue to share all of it with you. Wishing you all a safe and happy New Year!! Until next year friends!
Good vibes always,
